Welcome back to another installment of our Steam free weekend coverage. We hope you’ve been having a safe and enjoyable past few weeks considering the Coronavirus. If you’ve been trying any of the free weekend games from the previous weeks, be sure to let us know what you thought. Players who picked up Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on PC are saying they are experiencing gameplay issues that slow down the game during combat in the PC port. A player with an RTX 3080 graphics card and an i5-12600K processor says the PC version “goes from full 120 fps straight down to low 40s and 50s” as the gameplay slows down with it on the game’s subreddit. The issue isn’t limited to players with Intel processors, but AMD, as a player with a Ryzen 7 3800X processor and 48GB RAM, says, “there is definitely something really weird about this game’s performance....

Super Bomberman R launched for the Nintendo Switch last month, and in that time it has received some updates to improve the experience. That continues today with a new patch that vastly improves the game’s overall performance, along with adding some new content for owners of the game to check out. Starting with the performance improvements, the 1.3 patch says that the “frame rate of the entire game has been improved....

Super Meat Boy developers Team Meat have confirmed Super Meat Boy Forever has been delayed. Originally intended for an April 26th release, Super Meat Boy Forever has been pushed back in order to avoid the brutal crunchtime that is all too common in the gaming industry. In a tweet where they apologized to fans for the delay, they explained that as an independent company they don’t need to stress themselves out with excessive overtime....

Merely a couple of days after the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite in India, Samsung has today brought the Galaxy S10 Lite to the country as well. It sports a similar design, including the Infinity-O display and triple cameras. But, it stands tall against the Note 10 Lite since it’s backed by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset instead of Samsung’s own Exynos chips. Though it has ‘Lite’ in the name, Galaxy S10 Lite is very much a flagship and boasts the premium glass-sandwich build to prove it....

Samsung has officially announced two new 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensors that will likely be used in smartphones next year. The first one is the massive 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1, while the other one is the 32MP ISOCELL Bright GD1. In a statement released to the press, Ben K. Hur, the vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics, said “Demand for ultra-small, high-resolution image sensors are growing as smartphones evolve to deliver new and more exciting camera experiences for users....

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time has received a new release date and trailer. The action-platformer will launch on August 21st, 2020, for $39.99. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Bandai Namco has finally put a date on the launch of its anticipated action RPG Scarlet Nexus. Releasing on current and next-gen platforms, the sci-fi title has been revealed to be hitting store shelves on June 25. In addition, the unreleased game has already netted itself an anime television series, expected to come in the summer, as well. With the announcement, Bandai Namco dropped a new story trailer for the title, debuting new gameplay from its main characters, Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall....

Sony Pictures has set a release date for The Angry Birds Movie 2, a new animated film based on the popular videogame series by Rovio Entertainment. The new film will premiere on September 20, 2019, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the series. With this announcement, Sony Pictures reinforces its current strategy to expand its business through multiple videogame adaptations, including Uncharted and a Resident Evil reboot.
