Sony has unveiled today two new colors for the Dualshock 4, the PS4 controller, which will launch in March in North America and Europe. While other color variations have focused on bringing a brighter look, the new colors announced are more subtle and elegant. Named Midnight Blue and Steel Black, they are softer takes on those colors, which makes them perfect for those users who want their new controller to be easily identifiable but not to make a big contrast with the traditional black Dualshock 4....

Promotional posters of the upcoming God of War game for PlayStation 4 have started appearing in the Spanish city of Madrid, becoming the first official promotional move that Sony has made of the game to a general audience outside of game events. The fact that Sony is pushing the title so early could suggest that the release of the game could be closer than expected. The posters present an image of an older Kratos and his son Atreus, and feature the tagline “Mi papá le puede al tuyo” which would be loosely translated into English as “My dad is stronger than yours....

Sony has been one of the leading image sensor manufacturers in the industry bringing new technology in image processing. Several major companies like Xiaomi, Huawei use Sony’s IMX sensors in their smartphones. Now, the company has made a single image processing unit that comes integrated with AI at the hardware level. Current image processing sensors upload the image captured to the cloud for the analysis of the image data. The AI in the cloud performs various tasks, extracts the useful data from the image and sends it back to the processor for further processing....

Sony raised eyebrows when they announced their intention to skip this year’s Gamescom, but they haven’t ignored the European region altogether. Having previously announced their attendance at this years Paris Games Show, they’ve now confirmed that their press conference is scheduled for 27th October, kicking off at 18.00 CEST. Interestingly, the date coincides with the launch of Microsoft’s biggest exclusive for 2015, Halo 5: Guardians. Whether that is a coincidence, or whether Sony plan to steal Microsoft’s thunder, remains to be seen....

Drake just dropped his new album Scorpion today, and it’s already been the subject of several online arguments. Drizzy fans have been insisting that the new track “Final Fantasy” happens to include a sample from the iconic series’ “Prelude” theme. Does the new song actually draw from the JRPG’s pool of musical excellence, though? Not really. Fans chatting about the album drop over at ResetEra were convinced that Drake had tucked a Final Fantasy sample into the track of the same name....

NPD Group has shared the official sales data for the month of September 2018 in the United States and, as foreseeable, Marvel’s Spider-Man was the best selling game on PlayStation 4 and overall. NBA 2K19 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey were respectively second and third overall, with FIFA 19 fourth most probably since it’s been out for only a couple days in September and “soccer” isn’t as trendy as it’s in Europe over there....

Crab Game takes Squid Game and translates it into chaotic, videogame form. In case you’ve been under a rock for the past month, Squid Game is a battle royale-type TV show that has been standing at the pinnacle of the Netflix mountain top spawning a countless number of gifs, memes, and Halloween costumes and because of that, we now have the videogame version in Crab Game. The simplicity of the show mixed with the utter brutality is what has made it such an intriguing mix and the biggest Netflix show ever, so naturally, the video game world would be the natural medium to jump into a concept around gaming....

The classic 2003 BioWare RPG Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic is officially being remade and coming to the PlayStation 5. The announcement was made during the PlayStation 2021 Showcase event and was the first title revealed. No gameplay was shown. The teaser briefly touched on the first line of the Sith code, how “Peace is a Lie.” Shortly after the narrator’s lines, a signature red saber ignited, revealing the wielder to be Revan, the leader of the Sith during the Old Republic....

Previously known only as Project Maverick, Star Wars: Squadrons received a massive leak and found itself on the front page of Microsoft’s Xbox page today. The game will be an aerial dogfighting combat game where pilots from the Empire and the Rebellion face off in epic battles. There’s little to say regarding the game at this point due to the brief leak. From what we do briefly see about the upcoming title, players will find themselves in the cockpit of iconic Star Wars fighters fighting amongst the stars and above the low-atmosphere of planets from all over the Star Wars galaxy....

The MPAA has now officially given Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens a rating. It has been rated PG-13. The rating was revealed by FilmRatings.com. It just notes that the film has a PG-13 rating for “sci-fi action violence“. Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is only the second Star Wars film to get the PG-13 rating. The other film to get this rating was Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith....

Capcom announced a brand new character for Street Fighter 5 and his name is Necalli. Necalli is new to the series as he has never appeared in any previous game in the franchise. This will mark the character’s video game debut. Capcom announced yesterday that Street Fighter 5 will be launching with 16 characters. 12 of them will be familiar, while 4 of them are new. Necalli is part of the four new faces....

It’s official: Sunset Overdrive is releasing today for Windows 10 PC. The game is going to be published by Microsoft but it’s not a Microsoft Store exclusive, as it is dropping today on Steam, too. The new version of the action adventurer has received a launch trailer you can check out below, and more details will come today as part of the weekly This Week On Xbox appointment. ​ The news was provided by Microsoft’s Major Nelson and echoed by Insomniac Games itself on Twitter, which means the pair is still working together on this despite the IP is owned by the developer....

Last week saw the highly anticipated release of Super Mario Run on iOS, and the game was unsurprisingly a massive success right off the bat. The game was downloaded nearly 3 million times on its first day of release, though now we’re getting numbers regarding how the game has sold during its first official launch week. The game has been downloaded a staggering 37 million times so far, and it hasn’t even been available for a full week yet....
