Sony have confirmed that the PlayStation 4 is to receive an official price cut in the UK on October 9th, coinciding with the release of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. The move will see the PS4 retail at £299.99, £50 cheaper than the current price of £349.99, and matching the price of the Xbox One. This swiftly follows the recent announcement that PS4 will be receiving a price cut in Japan to ¥34980, which roughly translates to a saving of $42....

Today finally brings up the much awaited release of Bungie’s latest gaming giant, Destiny. Almost creating its own kind of genre within game, Destiny looks to be a smash hit from day one. Unlike Bungie’s Halo series that was an Xbox exclusive, Destiny is multiplatform across Sony and Microsoft consoles, but Sony is still basically treating it as a first party game, according to a Sony head. In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony UK head Fergal Gara discusses how he considers the game a first-party titled based on the level of marketing they’ve put into it....

This series of oneshots for Critical Role has been the gift that keeps on giving. Even nearly two years after the campaign centered around Vox Machina ended, single-episode stories have continued their adventures. Initially, the Search for Grog filled in a plot point left behind in the campaign. But thanks to the overwhelmingly successful Critical Role Kickstarter campaign, fans have gotten two more oneshots. The second was the Search for Bob, picking up another plot point that the Search for Grog left....

This is the remake we all need. THQ Nordic has just announced SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, which is quite a mouthful. The game is a full remake of the beloved titles from way back in 2003, and honestly, this is probably something we never knew we needed up until now. Spongebob hasn’t exactly had a great track record of good games, in fact most cartoons don’t ever have a good transition from the drawing board to a video game console....

While Square Enix did just release a trailer for a new Final Fantasy XIV fighting game, unfortunately the trailer’s fake. Uploaded earlier today on the official Final Fantasy XIV YouTube channel, the trailer features a tense battle between characters Yda and Livia, otherwise a perfect recreation of the game’s final boss battle....

Will 2021 mark the return of KOTOR? A new Star Wars rumors has surfaced hot on the heels of the potential KOTOR remake. The latest information spilling out of the rumor mill is once again regarding Knight of the Old Republic, but not in the same way as the alleged remake (or reboot) from the mystery developer. Last year, when Apple announced its App Tracking Transparency framework for third-party apps, several companies opposed the feature saying it will cause a significant impact to advertisers. Many social apps like Instagram and Facebook even forced users to enable tracking on iOS following the release. Now, a recent report suggests that some games are continuing to track users on iOS and iPadOS even when they opt for the “Ask app not to track” option....

People that want to play Super Mario Run without the internet will be out of luck. For some reason, you need the internet to play it at all times. Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki tweeted out: “Mario Run needs internet while using app, not just when launching it, Nintendo says. Wonder it’s possible to play when airplane mode’s on.” This was also confirmed by Shigeru Miyamoto himself who was interviewed recently by Mashable....

A Saints Row: The Third Remastered listing has been spotted on retailer GameFly’s website, hinting at a possibly imminent release of the game. The title, which has yet to be announced, is reportedly coming on May 7 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The franchise has not released a current-gen game yet, and is probably skipping native production for Sony and Microsoft’s consoles at this stage, but has a rather substantial presence on the hardware....

Earlier this week Nintendo revealed that the development of Smash Bros. on the Wii U is coming along nicely, but we didn’t get any other information other than that. Satoru Iwata told us that we’re gonna have to wait until E3 to get the goods on the next Smash Bros. game, and Sakurai can’t wait for that day to arrive. Two versions of the new Smash Bros. game will arrive at a later date....

Sega has unveiled today a remastered edition of its 2014 RPG Shining Resonance, coming to PS4 on March 29, 2018. The game was originally released for PS3 in Japan, but never made it overseas, making this new version the perfect chance for the title to reach a worldwide audience. Named Shining Resonance Refrain, the remaster will feature updated visuals, gameplay adjustments demanded by the fans over the years, and an alternative version of the story in the form of the ‘Refrain Mode,’ that will present brand new scenes....

As the U.S slowly begins to open up after coronavirus hit its shores, tragedy struck this past weekend as former WWE superstar Shad Gaspard was lost at sea. Gaspard, 39, was at Marina Del Rey Beach in California with his wife and son Sunday after it opened. Gaspard and his child were among swimmers caught 50 feet from shore by a rip current. When rescuers reached the scene, Gaspard told them to help his son first before another wave swept over him....

She-Hulk is rapidly approaching, with the Disney Plus streaming series set to debut very soon. It will introduce the Marvel Cinematic Universe viewers to the memorable Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, practicing attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner. The series and its trailers tease the franchise’s signature humor as it explores the notion of a confident lawyer who, through having her blood contaminated with the gamma rays that turned her cousin into a raging superhero, wants to live a normal life despite this enhancement....

If you watched the Shenmue III presentation on the PC Gaming Show at E3, you might have noticed something missing from the trailer — the Steam logo. It turns out there’s a good reason for that. As Shenmue III’s Kickstarter page has confirmed, the game is now an Epic Games Store exclusive. At the time of the campaign, backers were able to select a Steam key as a reward. There’s no word yet as to how the game will be delivered to those backers....
