Final Fantasy VII is turning 25, and Square Enix has big plans for the sub-franchise. The original Final Fantasy VII was released on the PlayStation 1 in Japan on January 31, 1997. To celebrate, Square Enix shared a new logo for the 25th anniversary and a message from Toshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura even teases that more spin-offs in the world of Final Fantasy VII are coming. Kitase was the director of the original Final Fantasy VII and is the current project producer of the Remakes....

Star Citizen is starting to really take shape. Sure, some people might argue that there is already Arena Commander to play, but the fact of the matter is, there really hasn’t been anything available that one couldn’t find in another game like Elite: Dangerous, until now. In a relatively short video, Robert Space Industries, the developer of Star Citizen, has showcased their updated damage model. Publisher Eastasiasoft Limited has announced that the satirical first-person shooter Shadow of Loot Box will soon be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Well if you live in Asian territories that is. No word on a North American or European release. The game is already localized in English. Team ICO games are linked together to form a trilogy, but only in the most tenuous ways. The games seem to exist within the same universe, with references linking them. But the games don’t really fit into a definite timeline, at least without some heavy fan theorizing. But Easter Eggs don’t have to fit with the reality of the situation, and Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 has a really nice Easter Egg in it referencing The Last Guardian, the latest game in the Team ICO trilogy....

Sonos has won an initial ruling in a lawsuit it filed against Google on the grounds of patent infringement. The smart speaker maker is asking the court to award financial damages. It is also calling for a ban on the sales of Google’s smart speakers and other hardware in the US. An administrative judge overruled Google’s objections to the case and cleared the lawsuit to proceed.
