We’ve known about Super Mario Bros: The Movie for some time now, and it seems we’re getting a spinoff too. Donkey Kong is reportedly getting his own solo film. Giant Freaking Robot reports that Illumination, the studio behind next year’s Mario movie, has signed Seth Rogen to a Donkey Kong-focused flick. Shovel Knight Dig is the second roguelike spinoff of Shovel Knight, following last year’s Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon. Sifu developer Sloclap had promised new difficulty options a couple of months ago, and now it’s not only provided a release window for them but a whole host of other additions as well. All things considered, Sonic the Hedgehog has had it pretty easy the last couple of years. While the new open-zone Sonic Frontiers proved a little divisive, it was nevertheless better received than the vast majority of 3D entries into the series, and the upcoming Netflix series Sonic Prime looks set to be an enjoyable romp through various different worlds. Sony has sold 9,520,000 of its shares invested in Square Enix today, to the tune of approximately $46.9 million USD. The shares have been sold to Nikko Securities Inc. Whilst Sony’s statement doesn’t imply any separation for the companies, it doesn’t look like it bodes well for the relations between them.
