Sega has released the financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year, which ran from October to December of 2019. Despite both net sales and operating income being up year-over-year, there was disappointment as their new releases from the quarter sold below expectations. Grand Theft Auto V will allow players to use crews from Max Payne 3 via Rockstar’s Social Club. As you may know, Pokemon Sword and Shield recently held an event where Magikarp appeared more frequently in raids, and they had a much higher chance of being shiny. While the odds of finding a shiny were not specified, for myself, it appeared to be well over 50% of the raids I joined had a shiny Magikarp. Over the four days shiny fish rained from the sky, I managed to catch quite a few and hope that the time invested in catching them pays dividends in the future....

The new content will also be available as DLC for Sonic Mania owners. Last month, during this year’s SXSW, Sega announced Sonic Mania Plus, an expanded version of last year’s critically acclaimed Sonic Mania. It was revealed that the new edition of the game would be coming out this summer, but now we have a specific release date. The official trailer for Sonic Mania Plus was uploaded to YouTube today (April 25) and reveals that the game is set to release on July 17....

Paramount Pictures and Sega have announced official merchandise for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, including new clothing for adults and children, toys, books, and even a Build-A-Bear. Sony is already bracing investors for weak sales from the PlayStation division following weak handheld sales on the PlayStation Vita. The company is hanging their hopes on the PlayStation 3, and believes that the console will lead the company’s gaming unit to profitability. There’s something really curious happening with the Spider-Man Collector’s Edition for PlayStation 4. We’re very close to the release of the game, and this edition hasn’t been fully unveiled yet. But why? During a Twitch stream, developer Insomniac Games has shared the reason why the Collector’s Edition hasn’t been showcased yet, although looking pretty majestic, at least from the size of the box. The Collector’s Edition includes, as known, a quite big statue, which – according to Insomniac Games itself – features a spoiler as it showcases a character whose identity or role the studio doesn’t want to reveal before players reach a latter part in the game....

Stage builders in Super Smash Bros. allowed players to create their own stages. They were generally limited, with the stages having a limited amount of space and resources to use. Stage building has been a feature in Super Smash Bros. since Brawl. The feature was noticeably absent in Ultimate....

The cast and crew for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens were all at a special panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con event. The movie’s director, J.J. Streets of Rage 4 first hit home consoles as an online in-store purchase – but now game collectors can finally get their hands on physical copies. As of the time of writing, Streets of Rage 4 is now available as a physical purchase. Previously, the game was only available on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and the Nintendo eShop. And what’s more, if collectors buy the Signature Edition, they’ll get a handful of exclusive items to boot....
The Metroidvania genre has been a favorite of indie developers for years now, but few have brought as much style and creativity as Sundered. The new game from Thunder Lotus Games, Sundered is currently in pre-alpha, with a Kickstarter that just launched. Despite this, the short demo that I played felt polished and refined, while convincing me that Sundered should be on every gamer’s “must-play” list for 2017.
