Nintendo has revealed the details surrounding the first major update for Super Mario Maker. The game, which has seen amazing sales amid an ever growing number of fan created levels, lets players create their own 2D Mario levels using the Wii U Gamepad. VGC has learned from multiple sources that Nintendo will soon hold an event for the plumber’s latest gaming milestone that will likely announce remasters of the majority of Mario’s back catalog, which will re-release on its hybrid console later this year. Players who visit Inazuma City after the 2.1 update can find a new quest called Seirai Stormchasers. To begin the quest, all they need to do is visit Katherine at the Adventurer’s Guild. Snap Inc, the parent company of instant messaging app, Snapchat, has unveiled the third-generation of its Augmented Reality sunglasses, called Spectacles 3. As can be seen in the image above, the devices follow the minimalist design language of Spectacles 2 with lightweight steel frames and thin bezels, as opposed to the oversized, plasticky, first-generation devices. One of the more glaring faults of the stellar Nintendo Switch is its lack of a virtual console. After years of fans begging to be able to play their favorite retro titles on the ultra-popular handheld/home console hybrid, Nintendo announced that select NES titles would be playable through their new paid online service. Yuji Naka’s resume is impressive, having created Sonic the Hedgehog and produced Phantasy Star Online for Sega. Most recently though, he’s known for directing Balan Wonderworld for Square Enix. After that launch, it seems that he won’t be working for any big publishers, at least for now. Balan Wonderworld was not a success (it sits at 51% on Metacritic as of the time of this writing), which led to Naka leaving Square Enix earlier this year....
Driveclub was recently delayed in Japan, and it’s prompted a ton of speculation about whether Evolution Studios is seeing problems with the game’s development. Well, Sony wants to make sure that everyone knows that there haven’t been any major problems in development, and that a release date could be announced shortly. In a statement to IGN, Sony had this to say about the PS4 Exclusive Driveclub. “The team at Evolution Studios are working hard to bring Driveclub, a truly next gen driving experience to PS4 and we will announce the release date shortly....
As some of you may have observed at Gamescom, Sony was more than thrilled to throw a few jabs at Microsoft, notably Andrew House.
