Just days after Shazam hit theaters, it appears that DC has a sequel in the works for the next installment of Billy Batson’s story. According to The Wrap, Shazam screenwriter Henry Gayden is returning to write the screenplay for the sequel. The site also states that director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran are also expected to return for the upcoming sequel as well. With Shazam having success both critically and at the box-office, it’s a no brainer for DC to capitalize and get right to work on a sequel....

Having played all of the major Black Ops releases on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, I can undeniably say that the Xbox 360 got the most stable version of the game. According to rumors out of Nikkei Buisness Daily, Sony plans to raise the price of PlayStation Plus to $9.99 in the United States, with corresponding price changes in Europe. The Japanese publication did not cite the sources of these rumors, so there’s no timetable on when to expect the price hike on the soon-to-be near mandatory subscription for the console. The rumor is vague, and PlayStation Plus already costs $9.99 if you purchase it on a month by month basis....

Ubisoft’s upcoming South Park title has been delayed once again as South Park: The Fractured But Whole has been pushed back to release anytime from April 2017 to March 2018. This piece of information was first revealed during Ubisoft’s earnings call and later confirmed on their blog. “South Park: The Fractured But Whole will now launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in FY18,” Ubisoft writes, with the company’s fiscal year spanning April to March....

Among the many Switch and 3DS games discussed during today’s Nintendo Direct was Splatoon 2. It was revealed that the game will be updated to Ver. 3.0 and receive a new single-player DLC this year. The Splatoon 2 section of this Nintendo Direct started off by detailing the upcoming 3.0 update for the game. The update will include over one hundred pieces of new gear to accessorize your characters with. Also, the new stages Piranha Pit, Camp Triggerfish and Wahoo World will be added to the game....

The first teaser trailer for the new Star Trek: Picard series just released. The teaser shows the man himself Patrick Stewart as Jean Luc Picard. Stewart played Jean Luc Picard for seven seasons in the Star Trek: The Next Generation series. This new series is set to show what happened to the Admiral after he left Star Fleet. The trailer starts with Picard walking around what looks to be his family’s vineyard....

Disney/Lucasfilm has recently filed a trademark for “Shadow Troopers”. This might be an indication that this new stormtrooper design will be in the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One movie. TMZ reported that the “Shadow Trooper” trademark has been filed for use for just about everything. This includes using the name on things like “clothing, footwear, toys” and more. Shadow Troopers have never featured in any of the Star Wars movies before, but they were originally in The Force Unleashed video game....

There was something in the reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that was quite suggesting that the game was supposed to have stealth mechanics of sorts. Perhaps, it was the fact that you’re going to be a Jedi on the run, escaping the forces of the Empire and trying to just stay in the shadows for as long as possible. Anyway, that’s not going to be the case, as confirmed in a recent interview by the game director, Respawn’s Stig Asmussen....

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is due out in March. The first expansion pack for the real time strategy title will feature a lot of changes in the multiplayer side of gameplay. New units and re-balanced game will be of utmost importance to competitive players, but for the rest us, Blizzard’s adding a bunch of new features to bring the StarCraft II community closer together and make new features easier to use....

Couch co-op is back! The Mario series of platforming games has always had multiplayer as a core component, but until recent entries most titles offered local multiplayer only in the loosest sense. Players could take turns tackling levels, alternating with each death. More recent games have changed that though, letting players take on levels together in a co-op sort of setup. Super Mario Maker 2 continues this tradition, though getting it to work is a bit of a challenge....

Super Mario Run is a massive hit already, but it is currently only available on iPhone. Those on Android, which make up the vast majority of smartphone users, have been left out in the cold by Nintendo. That should be ending soon, though we have no official word on exactly when that might happen. However, those who are anxiously anticipating the Super Mario Run release date can now set it up so that they are notified when the game hits the Google Play Store....
