Electronic Arts has shared a new trailer of the story content included in the upcoming Season 1, themed after the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi film. The video shows footage from the upcoming content for the game such as Finn and Captain Phasma as controllable characters, the new maps of Crait and D’qar, and the upcoming story DLC Resurrection, meaning that those who still haven’t finished the campaign might want to skip the end to avoid spoilers....

Author Cavan Scott is releasing a Star Wars audio drama following the life of Dooku. Now available for pre-order, the story will be released April 30th, 2019. This story is not just a reveal of Dooku’s past – from his childhood in the temple and even his family – but also a deep character exploration on how and why he became a Sith Lord. Valve has released a new client update for the Steam Deck that adds a couple of addition and fixes to the device. The major one detailed in the patch notes is definitely the update to the device’s offline mode which no longer requires players to restart Steam in order to get into the mode. It isn’t just about the Steam Deck’s offline mode, the update also adds Steam button support for the equivalent on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo controllers....

Animation studio will Gonzo launch a crowdfunding campaign on September 11th as a part of its 30th anniversary. The campaign will be launched on the Anime Fund platform. Gonzo will also reportedly be using the money to fund its anniversary talk show events and exclusive merchandise for backers of the campaign. Part of Ubisoft’s viral campaign leading up to the release of Splinter Cell: Conviction is apparently Twitter. Go ahead and follow Real_SamFisher, but don’t expect links to game videos, screenshots, or anything else of that nature. This campaign is someone actually tweeting as if they were Sam Fisher. Giving up little pieces to the story of Conviction and making references to previous experiences in the Splinter Cell story arc. Most tweets will include a picture of some sort, some are real life pictures of actual locations others are letters or documents fabricated for the game....

Classic 2D fighting returns It’s the late nineties. I just finished a totally awesome series in a bowling tournament and need to kill some time. What does teenage me do? Head to the arcade, of course. And what do I find there? A few decent options, but the real star for me is Samurai Shodown. There have been many, many, many Monopoly sets released over the game’s long lifespan. A lot of them have been adaptations of various games, and Rare’s Sea of Thieves is the latest one to get the Monopoly treatment, with the special edition board being available for purchase on the Rare Store. The board game adaptation of Rare’s online pirate game will feature currency, destinations, and events from the video game. Even the pieces are custom-fit for Sea of Thieves, with players being able to choose from a skull, a ship, or a compass to name a few examples....

Genshin Impact Version 3.0 has entered the latter half of the update, and like every update, is bringing two new Character Event Wish banners for players to choose from. In this version, players will have to make the tough decision to redirect their Primogems into either Ganyu or Kokomi. As with most double banners, you might have trouble deciding who to pull for as both 5-star characters are different. Ganyu and Kokomi are joined by a 4-star roster of Dori, Sucrose, and Xingqiu....

While SMITE has been enjoying a very successful closed beta on PlayStation 4 over the past couple of weeks, pretty soon everyone will be able to join in on the fun. Developer Hi-Rez has revealed that the SMITE open beta will begin on March 22nd. The date of the open beta coincides with the 2 year anniversary of the game’s original launch, with everyone being able to download the game for free....

Sony is selling the PlayStation 4 at a loss come November. The console priced is priced at $399, and will be $100 cheaper than the Xbox One. To get it to this price point, Sony will need to take a loss on the hardware, but they believe they’ll be making up the difference with their premium PlayStation Plus subscriptions. A Sony Japan executive explained to Eurogamer that the initial investment from buyers of the PlayStation 4 will cover the loss at which Sony is selling the base hardware....

During today’s Nintendo Direct Nintendo announced that Splatoon will be getting two brand new maps, along with some additional clothing options in a pair of updates that will hit later today and tomorrow. The maps, named Mahi-Mahi Resort and Museum d’Alfonsina will arrive as part of these updates, which should be released at 8pm Eastern Time today and 9pm Tomorrow. The maps look to be fairly complex when compared to previous Splatoon maps, with Museum d’Alfonsina featuring a rotating inner area, and Mahi-Mahi Resort having some interesting elements based around water....

November has been a big month for amiibo already between the release of new Smash Bros. amiibo like Mewtwo and the Mii Fighters, as well as the Animal Crossing line and a restock. We already knew we had a few more coming with Mega Yarn Yoshi and Falco over the next week, but there is going to be one more in November that it doesn’t sound like will be easy to get....
