Square Enix has revealed its financial report for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017, announcing their best results ever in terms of net revenue, operating income, ordinary income and net income. The company points at the release of the blockbusters Final Fantasy XV and Rise of the Tomb Raider, specifically the PlayStation 4 version, as the main players in this achievement, although it also mentions the good performance by online multiplayer games like Final Fantasy XIV, and mobile titles like Final Fantasy Brave Exvius or Kingdom Hearts Union χ....

Square Enix has recently filed a new trademark for Crystal Dynamics classic Gex in Japan, leading on from a European trademark filing in 2021. While normally used for nothing but keeping hold of licenses, new trademark listings such as this can lead to new entries, remakes, and ports of older game series being released on current-gen platforms. After all this time, Gex could be making a comeback. Nibellion and Renka_schedule took to Twitter to reveal that Square Enix has filed a trademark for Gex in Japan recently....

The review embargo date for Star Trek Beyond has been revealed so fans will know sometime next week how good the movie is. In the meantime, the Twitter reactions have been very positive. Force Friday is now upon us and several toy retailers have started selling Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens action figures. We managed to pick up the 6 inch Black Series Kylo Ren. This Kylo Ren figure from the Black Series is quite awesome. My brother and I have been collecting several figures from this line, and this has to be one of my favorites. He’s right up there with Boba Fett and Darth Maul in terms of cool factor....

Last week, at the MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim CA, Blizzard unveiled some of the changes that will arrive with StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. This video contains all of the latest updates that Blizzard has made to the new Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units. Originally revealed at last year’s BlizzCon, these latest changes were available for hands-on testing on site. Blizzard has not indicated when they’ll release Heart of the Swarm, but impressions from the MLG Event indicate that the new content feels extremely polished, and at least the multiplayer aspect of the game will be ready for beta in the coming months....

The Xbox website released a gameplay teaser for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 with a development update talking about the team’s progress. Sarah Michelle Gellar has officially released the first photo of her character in Wolf Pack, an upcoming series by Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis. The series, which also marks Gellar’s return to the horror genre after her longtime role as Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has reportedly been confirmed for release in January of next year, per Gellar’s social media. Wolf Pack borrows its inspiration from a dark fantasy novel series of the same name by Edo Van Belkom....
