Rare announced on Thursday that it will shut down Sea of Thieves’ competitive Arena mode on March 10. The company cited the mode’s low population as a key factor in deciding to shutter it. “As we’ve shared before, only 2% of our players’ time is spent in The Arena on a consistent basis,” said the company in a blog post elaborating on the decision. Rare also stated that despite ending active development on the mode in December 2020, updates to the rest of the game had adversely affected The Arena....

Leading up to the release of Resident Evil Village this Friday were several timed demos of the survival horror sequel from Capcom. The first couple of demos were timed affairs exclusive to PlayStation consoles, while both demos eventually made their way to other platforms. Police are investigating a potential shooter threat at Twitch headquarters in San Francisco. While it’s under investigation, there is currently no active threat. As a result and in the interest of safety, Twitch offered employees the chance to work from home. The SFPD confirms that the threat originated on Twitter, but did not add more details due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 875, could be significantly faster than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 865/ 865+. That’s according to an apparently leaked AnTuTu benchmark score, which seems to show that the upcoming chipset notched up more than 847,000 points as opposed to the 663,000 scored by its predecessor. If verified as authentic, the result would suggest that the 875 might be as much as 25% faster than the 865....
