Street Fighter 5 was revealed late last year through an accidental video upload, but the biggest surprise within was that it be a console exclusive to PS4. Naturally, Sony showed off the game a little bit during their E3 conference and revealed that the game’s beta will be coming first to PS4. Street Fighter 5 will also be coming to PC in addition to PS4, but the exclusive beta for the game will be coming to PS4 first on July 23....

These characters include Ryu, Chun-Li, and Akuma, all sporting their classic looks, and despite these characters being available as skins for Petra, Wu Shang, and Val, respectively, each Street Fighter character will have access to their iconic special moves including Ryu’s Hadoken, Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird Kick and Akuma’s Tatsumaki Zankukyaku....

Bomberman has been a video game staple for decades. The series has always been one of those that gamers love, even when it goes way off the tracks like with Bomberman: Act Zero. The Sonic series has had plenty of low points ever since it entered the 3D realm of gaming, which unfortunately has tarnished the series’ once high reputation quite a bit. The developers never seemed to really hit a point where everything fell into place, instead chasing the latest gaming trends and shoehorning them into Sonic’s world. However, Sega has said previously that they want to change that, and now they have said it again....

My thoughts after three hours with FromSoftware’s latest Jumping headfirst into a new FromSoftware game is a daunting experience. Known for the brutally difficult Souls series, their games typically involve a whole lot of figuring out mechanics, understanding enemy patterns, and a ton of dying. With Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice that was all true once again as I dove into the game at a recent preview event. Getting to sit down and play Sekiro for a solid three hours gave me only an early slice of what players will eventually experience....

Looks like XSEED Games and Marvelous will be having a big 2018, as the two have just announced that it has four games that will arrive in the West for the PlayStation 4 and PC by the time year is over. We finally have a first look at the upcoming Shadow Man: Remastered. The comic-based action-adventure game, originally released in 1999 for N64, Windows, PS1 and Dreamcast, is being remastered by Nightdive Studios. You can access the new zone without grinding out Renown or your Covenant campaign. Shadowlands Patch 9.1 adds a new zone, Korthia, though it could be better described as a new area within the Maw. Nonetheless, it brings with it two new factions to grind reputation for, catch up gear, and a wealth of secrets. The first half of Genshin Impact’s Version 2.8 update is bringing players another double banner, this time forcing players to choose between Kaedehara Kazuha and Klee. As with most double banners, you may not know which character to pull for, as both are 5-star options that benefit your account differently. Kazuha and Klee are joined by a 4-star roster of Ningguang, Thoma, and Shikanoin Heizou. Shikanoin Heizou is a brand new character, but Ningguang and Thoma are both old 4-stars who are generally not very useful in Genshin Impact....

These days, when Sony and Tencent are in the gaming headlines, it’s often because they’ve acquired another studio. That’s actually not the case this time, but the two gaming giants have made big investments in Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. According to a new notice from Kadokawa, Sony and Tencent subsidiary Sixjoy now own a 14% and a 16% stake in the company, respectively. That still leaves the 70% majority of shares in Kadokawa’s hands, so neither Sony nor Tencent has much control, but they do now have seats at the table....

Sony Classical has announced their plans to release the soundtrack of Final Fantasy 15 internationally on March 10th. The collection contains all the original instrumental music recorded for the game, and it is based on the Standard Edition published in Japan last year, which consists on 96 tracks divided on four CDs. Most of the pieces are signed by Yoko Shimomura, whose most famous work includes the soundtrack of the Kingdom Hearts series and Street Fighter II....

Virtual Reality is the next innovation from PlayStation, “Making games immersive has always been the goal of game creators,” said Sony at GDC. Called “Project Morpheus”, this virtual reality device is coming to the PlayStation 4. The sleek and futuristic device shown by Sony is black and white with blue highlights, and Sony describes the device as a “work-in-progress”.
