In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the team is doing what it can for those caught in the crossfire. Several companies have made donations to the cause. Notably, The Pokemon Company sent $200,000 to Ukraine through GlobalGiving. Hi-Rez is also making a donation of $50,000 to UNICEF, but that’s just part of the plan, according to studio CEO Stewart Chisam on Twitter....

The mainline Pokemon franchise may have taken a break in 2015, but arcades in Japan were able to get the brand new Pokken Tournament. As a unique fighter that is scheduled to come to Wii U in the Spring, a special controller has been revealed that is built just for the game. Even though it missed yesterday’s Indie World Showcase, developer MossMouth announced (via Gematsu) today that challenging platformer-slash-dungeon-spelunking titles, Spelunky and Spelunky 2, are coming to Nintendo Switch this August 26. Both Spelunky titles will be released digitally through Nintendo eShop for $9.99 and $19.99 respectively. The first game will support only local multiplayer up to four players. While you and three of your friends will be able to help (or hinder) each other online and locally in Spelunky 2....

Square Enix today announced a new release date for Hitman Sniper: The Shadows. This game is the latest entry in the Hitman Sniper franchise, one that takes action away from Agent 47, pulling back to the edges of the open sandboxes Hitman fans are so familiar with, tasking them with causing havoc and killing targets with nothing but a sniper rifle. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows is now slated to be released on March 3, 2022....

While Valve’s Steam Controller might not be the talk of the town as it was around its launch, the controller has nevertheless been successful and is closing in on a big milestone. It was recently discovered that Samsung was throttling thousands of apps’ performance on its phones through its Game Optimizing Service (GOS). Update 1.4 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today, according to Bethesda. As rumored, the Tokyo Game Show has made good on rumors that Sony was set to announce a new hardware revision for the PlayStation 3. The smaller, lighter PS3 Model will be available in two different models of varying HDD capacity. The new model is said to 25% lighter and 20% smaller than the current PlayStation 3 model, and will be offered in 250GB and 500GB varieties. The new PS3 will also be offered in a bundle this holiday season which comes with the Uncharted 3 “Game of the Year” Edition....
