Happy late Thanksgiving everyone! Due to the nature of the week, getting this piece out about my favorite venue took some time. Apologies to those I met that wanted to see this sooner! This past Tuesday I made my way to Free Play Richardson to attend the Street Fighter II Grand Master Challenge tournament. If you recall, I attended Free Play last week as well. As I mentioned, the games change every single week, which spices up the venue entirely....

Guess who’s coming to the Nintendo 3DS? Super Mario Bros! In the latest edition of Iwata Asks, Shigeru Miyamoto explained how he was working on the new title for the soon to be released 3d handheld. Not much else is known right now about the game, no videos, no images, certainly no release date, but rest easy. Super Mario Bros, will be on the Nintendo 3Ds, but I guess you could have guessed that anyway....

Character customization in today’s video games adds a layer of personalization. It’s something a lot of people from all levels of skill could appreciate in games. It’s an option that won’t hurt to have, but it’ll definitely be welcomed to those who like to delve into it....

When we got the reveal of Pac-Man for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. last month at E3, gamers were ecstatic that the game would be featuring another gaming icon from the past. At the time, we saw a few levels based on the classic character as well as Pac-Land. Shaquille O’Neal beat-em-up dated for June 5th on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, a successor to 1994’s infamous beat ’em up Shaq Fu, will be releasing this spring. Now, a more defined release date has been announced. According to a recent press release, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be released on June 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC....

Game company Skybound Entertainment announced today a new funding round led by mobile publisher Com2uS, with participation from C Ventures and Third Wave Digital. While the amount of the transaction has not been publicly disclosed, it is understood the money will go towards the development of a new Walking Dead game. “C Ventures’ holistic ecosystem and global network will fuel Skybound’s continuous growth,” said Co-Founding Partners of C Ventures Adrian Cheng and Clive Ng in a joint statement....

Rockstar revealed their record breaking and highly popular video game, Grand Theft Auto 5, will be hitting the next generation consoles. The announcement came from Sony’s press conference during this year’s E3 and besides the graphical improvements, something else will be giving gamers an incentive to purchase the game on PS4. Kotaku recently talked with PlayStation’s North America marketing vice president, John Koller.
