Starship Troopers: Terran Command, an upcoming strategy game from Slitherine Games and The Aristocrats, has been delayed from its initial March 31 release date. Unfortunately, Starship Troopers: Terran Command will now launch on PC on June 16 this year. “We know many will find this announcement disappointing and we apologize,” said Slitherine in a press release. “We truly feel that a few extra months of further polish and bug fixing will make a significant difference....

Studio MayDay is getting a company rebrand after attaining new investment from Chinese mega-corporation Tencent, with the New Zealand-based studio now being rebranded as Riffraff Games. The figure for the deal has not been disclosed, but it’s expected to be quite the significant sum which means Tencent will take minority ownership of the company. Shank was recently unveiled to the public at PAX East. It’s a 2D side scrolling adventure in violence starring Shank, your atypical violent video game protagonist. Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the creators of the Showtime drama series Yellowjackets, have officially signed an overall deal with Showtime, in which the pair has agreed to continue as showrunners for future seasons of the show as well as create new projects exclusively for Showtime. News of the new agreement comes just before Yellowjackets season 2 is due to begin filming in Vancouver. Yellowjackets, which was created by married couple Lyle and Nickerson and first premiered in November 2021, follows a 1996 girls’ high school soccer team, called the Yellowjackets, as their plane crashes and forces them to survive in the remote wilderness, devolving into “savage clans,” per Showtime....

Sony might just be sitting out this year’s E3. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter told VGC that he is not entirely on board with the idea of Sony being at the year’s most significant industry tradeshow. In 2019 the company decided to sit out the conference, which made sense. With no new hardware, no new significant games to announce, and nothing to say, going to the event and holding a press conference would have been pointless....

Sony has now confirmed that most of its huge blockbuster PS4 exclusives have all been able to sell over 1 million copies each. Anton Mikhailov, a software engineer at Sony Computer Entertainment recently sat down withvideogamer to discuss the shortcomings of Microsoft’s Kinect. From a developmental standpoint the software engineer thinks that the PlayStation Move has more potential than Microsoft’s Kinect for a number of reasons. The first being that Move is more applicable across many different types of software, and due to the immaturity of the tech behind the camera, which only does 30 fps, there is a latency issue that is much harder to deal with when compared to even Sony’s Eye Toy, which runs at 60 fps....
