Sony adds another title to their PlayStation library with its most recent acquisition, taking away the Xbox exclusive Sunset Overdrive. PlayStation now adds the colorful world of Sunset Overdrive to the millions of PS4 users. Sony bought Insomniac studios a few weeks back, along with the rights to any IP’s they have. One of those properties happened to be the 2014 Xbox One exclusive series. Insomniac worked with Sony consoles for over a decade to make the Spyro, Ratchet & Clank and Resistance series....
According to Sony, “the annual production of plastics has grown to around 20 times the level it was 50 years ago, but the rate of plastic recycling remains low, at only about nine percent.” Because of this, the company established its Green Management 2025 plan, which follows the launch of its One Blue Ocean Project. An important component of this plan is “a commitment to eliminate plastic use in newly designed small product packaging by 2025,” as well as the reduction of Sony’s plastic packaging quantity by 10% for its other products....
Star Wars 8 has been delayed from its Summer 2017 release as it will now come out in December 2017 instead. Disney has just announced that Star Wars 8 will now be released on December 15th, 2017. This has been pushed back from its original May 26th, 2017 release date. Disney did not give a reason as to why the change has been made. The only small piece of evidence that has been floating around is that the movie was undergoing rewrites....

Fans finally get a new update for the game. Super Mario Maker 2 released back in late June and brought with it many new features that were asked for by fans from the first game. This game was very well received, with one of the major flaws being fixed a couple months ago with the October update for the game by allowing players to play with friends. Nintendo has been silent about any further updates since, but now they have surprised us with the reveal of the next free update for Super Mario Maker 2 that will be arriving later this week....
The sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will reportedly be titled “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” according to industry reporter Jeff Grubb. While taking questions from his audience late into his Giant Bomb show, Grubbsnax, Grubb implored his viewers to guess the subtitle of the in-development game. After quite a few guesses, which ranged from seemingly plausible choices like “Star Wars Jedi: Unleashed,” to humorous ones like “Star Wars Jedi: Sadsack,” one viewer guessed “survivor” toward the very end of Grubb’s show....

Some potentially big news for Shenmue fans is on the horizon, according to a new rumor making the rounds. According to Destructoid, an Atlus USA employee has let slip that Sega is working on HD remasters of both Shenmue and Shenmue 2, and is targeting a 2017 release. The apparent plan is to release both at once to help tide fans over for Shenmue 3, which is apparently being pushed back to a 2018 release....
French video gaming website JeuxVideo are reporting that Shigeru Miyamoto will be present at the Xbox Press conference. Their tweet not long ago implied that he will be there though they did not say in what capacity, simply stating “Shigeru Miyamoto in the Xbox Conf?” (“Shigeru Miyamoto in the Xbox Conference?”) along with a video also stating this. While it is not uncommon for other publishers or developers to sit amongst the press for conferences, this comes after months of speculation regarding the Xbox Live platform and infrastructure being implemented into other areas of gaming, including Nintendo’s Switch platform....
Shonen Jump+’s reality show Million Tag has announced its winner. The show is styled as a “battle audition” type contest used to discover the “next star manga creator”. The winner of this season’s show is Naoki Fujita, creator of “Beat and Motion”. The prize for winning Million Tag includes Fujita’s work having an anime adaptation. This anime adaptation will stream exclusively on Netflix. Fujita also won 5 million yen (about $45,000 USD) and the chance to serialize the manga on Shonen Jump+....
