Embracer Group has recently announced that it is acquiring Square Enix’s western division of studios, which includes Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal. What this means is that Square Enix will not be developing any 1st party games outside of Japan and will only be publishing a handful of western IPs moving forward. This has honestly been a long time coming, and even with the weak monetary gain of $300 million in the deal, this acquisition is a great deal for both Square and its former studios....
Disney has now concluded its time in Croatia as filming for Star Wars: Episode 8 in the country has ended. The film crew will now head on over to the UK to shoot the majority of the movie at Pinewood Studios. The Dubrovnik Times reported that filming ended yesterday and that the sets are slowly being dismantled and packed away. Filming occurred from March 9th, 2016 until March 16th, 2016....
The Steam Library beta is now available for anyone to access. To join, go to the beta participation tab in your Steam preferences and set it to Steam Beta Update. From there Steam will update and restart, and you will be welcome to a new front for your games. In sad news, Steve Bing, American movie producer and philanthropist, has died at the age of 55. Reported by TMZ and Deadline, the police and the coroner’s office claimed that Bing committed suicide by jumping off the roof of a Central City apartment building in Los Angeles on Monday. According to From Software’s Bob Simpson, the developer is working on the possibility to have the Japanese audio across all the different regions when Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice releases next year. When asked about the matter, Simpson simply said that the studio has the feature in the making and there’s the plan to ship the “JP audio” in all the different versions of the action adventure title. “The plan is to have JP audio as an option in every version,” he told a fan who had a question about the chance to listen to the Japanese audio in the upcoming game from the Souls makers....
