Sega held a livestream at its headquarters in Tokyo earlier today where General Director and Sega Chief Creative Officer Toshihiro Nagoshi, and Producer Daisuke Sato teamed up to show off an hour of gameplay for the upcoming Yakuza-meets-Fist of the North Star action game Hokuto ga Gotoku. Overall, the duo allowed fans to see how much Hokuto ga Gotoku resembles Yakuza in terms of gameplay, but feature specific mechanics and an aesthetic that allows it to be its own unique product and not just another Yakuza title with a different coat of paint....

Hi-Rez Studios is gearing up for the SMITE World Championships in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend and released a new cinematic trailer for the PC and Xbox One MOBA. You can check out Bellona, Ymir, and Loki laying the wood to Thor, Sun Wukong, and Neith after paying the Fire Giant a visit. The SMITE World Championship 2016 starts Thursday, January 7 and runs through Sun, January 10. Professional teams from all over the world will descend upon the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA to compete for a $1 million prize pool....

The team at Ubisoft Reflections has released a solitary screenshot for their hype inducing open-world title, Watch Dogs. Revealed earlier this month at E3 2012, Watch Dogs got gamers excited being one the most promising new IPs on the way from Ubisoft. Due out in 2013, not many of the finer details have been made public about this title. From what was shown at E3, we do know that Watch Dogs will have a strong focus on open-world, which allows players to see deeper into the world by being able to manipulate “digital shadows” cast throughout the game world....

Sonic Frontiers has completely revamped the combat system of the franchise with tons of interesting new elements. The game gets to stretch its legs in encounters with mini-bosses, like the giant long-tailed monster Squid. Beating Squid in Sonic Frontiers Squid can be seen floating high in the air, followed by a massive glowing purple trail. To start the encounter with the massive beast, you’ll have to head to the map area marked by the red crossed swords icon....

Crash Bandicoot has been a hot topic ever since the PS4 first came out back in November 2013. Sony is aware of the high demand for a reboot, but sadly cannot say much more on the topic. Official PlayStation Magazine had a chance to talk with SCEE boss, Jim Ryan, on a possible Crash Bandicoot revival but Ryan sadly didn’t want to give too much information away. Ryan said: “Um…we’re certainly aware of the considerable affection — even reverence — in which the mighty Crash is held....

For the 25th anniversary of Soul Hackers, Atlus has announced Soul Hackers 2 after four days of questions from the sentient AI Aion, which asked Twitter viewers questions such as “What is your favorite food?” or “What is your favorite demon?” The announcement stream featured a live-action combat sequence, followed by a brief round-table discussion from the developers and an extra movie. While everything has been announced in a Japanese stream, Atlus West has also tweeted about the game, including a translated version of the animated movie, setting a date for August 26, one day behind the Japanese release....

Spider-Man from Insomniac Games is scheduled to launch worldwide on September 7 exclusively for PlayStation 4 (YES, it has been officially confirmed multiple times that the game won’t launch on Xbox One or PC or Nintendo Switch). The hype surrounding the game is pretty massive and the developer is pretty confident about the performance of the game as pre-order sales figure are said to be impressive. However, there is a small section of players that would like to wait a bit and then buy out the game....

Queue up with your pals and dominate Splatoon 3 is the third installment of the hit Nintendo series Splatoon where players can join forces and fight for their color to be painted farthest and widest on a stage, all while taking down other enemy players. While in the Splatlands, you can join up with fellow Inklings or Octolings depending on your choice. Although you can play multiplayer on your own by simply queueing up, having a pal or two to help you out can secure the victory while having a blast (literally)....

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios have finally announced a release date for their upcoming game: Styx: Master of Shadows. Instead of the previously vague release schedule of “some time inside October,” the release date has been officially set to October 7th. To coincide with the announcement, Cyanide Studios has also released some behind-the-scenes videos for you to peruse as you wait anxiously until the 7th. Unfortunately, unless you can understand French, you won’t be getting much information other than the ~1 minute of gameplay footage in each of the four ~5 minute videos....

In a bid to regain capture of the mid-range smartphone market in the country, Samsung recently launched the triple camera-packing Galaxy A7 (2018)in India. The device, which is priced starting at Rs. 23,990, is the company’s first smartphone to feature a triple camera setup on the back. The Portrait Backdrop feature isolates the subject from the background and allows users to add a texture to the background. As of now, Samsung provides four different textures –Crystal, Pixel, Time Slice, and Crumpled – that you can choose from....

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event in San Francisco, Samsung today launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup. The Galaxy S20 series succeeds the Galaxy S10 series from last year, starting off the decade on the right foot. The Korean giant has ditched the more affordable Galaxy S10e successor this year. Instead, it seems to be following Apple’s lead to streamline its lineup and has introduced three new devices – Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra....

Pokémon’s inaugural expansion pass launched on June 17th, 2020. On the same day, The Pokémon Company aired a Pokémon Presents live-stream. The biggest news revealed was the return of Pokémon Snap (Check out our coverage of Pokémon Snap here). Snap wasn’t the only big news, however.
