Achieving the best ranking in Resident Evil 3: Remake takes quite a bit of effort. You likely won’t achieve it on your first attempt. The game is all about having set enemies and item locations, meaning you need to fumble around the game for a bit before you figure it out. Once you know what you’re doing, though, it’s all about completing a level in a timely fashion.

Once you complete the game, you’ll receive a grade based on your performance. The faster you are, and the less saves you use, the better your score.

The S rank requirements for Resident Evil 3: Remake vary based on your difficulty level. There are five.

  • Assisted: You must clear in 2:30:00 and you can only save 5 times.Standard: You must clear in 2:00:00 and you can only save 5 times.Hardcore: You must clear in 1:45:00 and you can only save 5 times.Nightmare: You must clear in 2:00:00 and you can only save 5 times.Inferno: You must clear in 2:00:00 and you can only save 5 times.

When you go further down the difficulty ladder toward Nightmare and Inferno, the time requirement goes up. This occurs likely because the enemies are far more difficult, and you won’t find ammunition as much.

However, while playing on Nightmare, you won’t have an autosave feature, so it becomes increasingly difficult to try and make sure you meet those time requirements. You need to treasure every save slot you have and make sure you don’t do it too many times.

The best way to achieve these requirements is to memorize the locker and safe combinations, master the perfect dodge for Jill and Carlos, and to optimize your time while in each location. Resident Evil 3: Remake is all about backtracking and managing your time from location to location, so figure out the best route to every item you need to progress through the game.
