Kevin Hart, a popular American comedian and actor, announced via social media that he has lost his dad, Henry Robert Witherspoon. The post was made some hours ago, featuring a side-by-side pose of the comic and the deceased. Kevin stated that Henry was one of the “realest” and “rawest” he has encountered.
He pointed out that even though his dad is gone, he’ll never be forgotten. Then he asked the old man to give his mum a hug when they reunite. Kevin also disclosed that he’s a better father because of his dad. The comic went on to assure the deceased that the family will make him proud.
Kevin Hart Loses Dad After He Missed Out on His Childhood
The comic was born in 1979 to his dad, Henry Witherspoon, and mom, Nancy. Unfortunately, the latter died sometime in 2007. Prior to her demise, Nancy raised Kevin single-handedly. She worked at the University of Pennsylvania as an analyst in the Office of Student Registration and Financial Services.

At the time, Henry was addicted to an illegal substance. This caused him to be in and out of jail during the 1979-born actor’s childhood. One good thing is things turned around before Kevin Hart lost his dad.
The relationship between Henry and Kevin improved after the former worked on his addiction problem. But Kevin’s childhood and family life is the basis for most of his comic content. He turned his early life experiences to humor as a coping mechanism.
Kevin Hart losing his dad is an unfortunate incident. However, one lesson from his story is not to allow circumstances to beat your dreams.
