With the expanded presence of Chinese phone makers in India, Samsung realized that it was time to revamp its budget and mid-range strategy to court buyers. And well, Galaxy A50 was one of the most likeable offerings that were born out of this decision. I mean, I quite liked the design and performance, which you can read all about in our review.

Galaxy A50s boasts a design very similar to its predecessor, with the iridescent rainbow reflections under different light conditions. It’s still made out of glasstic as last time but with a new 3D prism pattern, which is glossy, as compared to a matte finish towards the edges.

Samsung has made minor upgrades under the hood with this mid-ranger phone. Galaxy A50s is powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset, which is a step above its predecessor. It’s a new chipset that’s based on the 10nm process, with 4 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and the other 4 cores are clocked at 1.7GHz. This is coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB. It runs Android 9 Pie-based OneUI out-of-the-box.

Alongside the Galaxy A50s, Samsung has also launched an upgrade for its Galaxy A30 budget phone from earlier this year. It sports a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-V display on the front, with a 16MP selfie camera up-top and in-display fingerprint scanner.

Galaxy A30s is powered by the octa-core Exynos 7904 chipset, which is the same as its predecessor. It is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and runs Android 9 Pie-based OneUI. This device also houses a 4,000mAh battery, with 15W fast-charging support.

Though Samsung had been teasing the launch of the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s over the past couple of days, it hasn’t revealed the price and availability details for these two smartphones. This is weird but yeah, stay tuned as we will update the story with all this information as and when we learn about it.

Samsung Galaxy A50s has been priced starting at Rs. 22,999 for the 4GB+128GB base variant whereas the 6GB+128GB variant is going to retail for Rs. 24,999. On the other hand, the Galaxy A30s has been priced at Rs. 16,999 for the only 4GB+64GB variant. The prices are slightly higher when you compare the two devices to its predecessors. Plus, you could get the Redmi K20 with Snapdragon 730, a bezel-less screen, 48MP triple camera and a pop-up selfie module for the same price as the Galaxy A50s. I mean, it’s just the better deal among the two.
