Fans itching for more details into the backstory and personal life of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic characters, rejoice! Samuel L Jackson is set to play his most recognizable role, Nick Fury, in an upcoming series on Disney+ all about him. While he is currently the highest-grossing actor of all time, with his films collective revenue totaling around $27 billion, he originally rose to fame back in the early 90s, with classic hits like Goodfellas and Jurassic Park, although perhaps most notably was his appearance in numerous blockbuster Quentin Tarantino films, with my personal favorite being Pulp Fiction.

More recently, however, Samuel L Jackson has appeared in most major MCU film releases, with 11 of his own 150 film appearances being MCU films, playing the coolest agent SHIELD has to offer, Nick Fury. He’s been playing the character ever since his first appearance as this character in the post-credits scene of the 2008 film Iron Man. The last time we saw him as a part of the MCU was in Spiderman: Far From Home, in which he interrupts Parker’s European vacation to recruit him into fighting against the elementals.

Not a lot is currently known about the plot of the upcoming series. In fact, a title hasn’t even been unveiled at this point,  although it’s pretty safe to assume it’ll follow Fury’s life following the events of Avengers: Endgame after he steps down as director of SHIELD. An organization known as SWORD was hinted at in the stinger for Spiderman: Far From Home and would be a perfect fit for his character. What we do know is that it will be written by Kyle Bradstreet of Mr. Robot, which is absolutely a good thing. No other information about the rest of the cast has yet been released, but you can keep an eye on The Nerd Stash for updates as they become available!
