San Francisco Shock is the 2019 Overwatch League Champions. San Francisco defeated the Vancouver Titans 4-0 in front of a sold-out Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The San Francisco Shock had an incredible record during the playoffs’ lower bracket. The Shock went 16-0, with four 4-0 sweeps in a row. The teams defeated by the Shock included not only the former OWL Champions, London Spitfire but also NY Excelsior, LA Gladiators and Hangzhou Spark.

These series of impressive performances granted to the Shock a spot in the OWL Grand Final. While the Titans got their spot by marching through Seoul Dynasty, LA Gladiators, and NY Excelsior.

The final act of the 2019 Overwatch League started on Lijiang Tower. The San Francisco Shock won the map with two straight captures, led by Jay “sinatraa” Won’s Doomfist.

On the second map, Eichenwalde, the Titans responded by forcing overtime. However, the Shock managed to secure the capture and win the match in overtime, taking a 2-0 lead.

Then, it has been the turn of Anubis. The match has been forced, once again into the overtime, and the Shock won it, led by sinatraa. 3-0 lead for the San Francisco Shock.

Once on Watchpoint Gibraltar, the Titans had to win at any cost to keep the series, and Vancouver’s hope alive. Though, the San Francisco Shock didn’t let this happen. With another victory, the Shock closed the Grand Final 4-0 with their fifth straight playoffs sweep. And became the 2019 Overwatch League Champions.

The 2019 OWL playoffs’ prize pool was set at $3.5 million. The Champs, San Francisco Shock, won $1,100,000. While the Vancouver Titans earned $600,000.

Grand Finals’ MVP titles went to San Francisco Shock’s Hyo-bin “ChoiHyoBin” Choi.
