Whoever hears the name Santa Monica Studio automatically thinks of God of War. The latest God of War: Ragnarok was a massive success with critics and even got nominated for various categories in the Game Awards. With that, people would think the developers would take a break. Well, on the contrary, they are already working on several projects. Santa Monica Studio games have always been amazing, but God of War definitely put them on the map. Now, God of War Ragnarok’s director has talked about Santa Monica Studio’s future projects. Everything he’s said makes us hopeful for the future.

One of Santa Monica Studios’ future projects includes a “large-scale” game

While we would love to get more God of War, and we hope we do in the future, it is always nice to see developers try something new. God of War Ragnarok’s director mentioned that the studio is working on various things. We don’t know if all of them will be new Santa Monica Studio games, but it is nice to know they are hard at work. With the quality they’ve put into God of War, we can only imagine that whatever game they make will be a hit. Their latest title has brought some of the most amazing set pieces in the saga, with great gameplay, secrets, armor, and more to discover.

God of War Ragnarok Update 2.02 Patch Notes

Beyond that, we know that Santa Monica Studio delivers quality. If the future projects are anything like the two latest God of War games, we’re in for something great. We must remember that the developers made the bold choice of revamping the game’s structure. From just a hack and slash to a more RPG structure, and it worked. That means that experimenting is already an area where they feel familiar. With many games repeating the same open-world formula, Santa Monica Studio sticks to its roots and improves upon them. As always, we’ll have to wait and see what they have in store for us.
