Sanzaru Games, developer for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, has announced they are not working on another Sly Cooper game as there are no plans for it right now.
Sanzaru Games has just finished working on Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for the Nintendo 3DS. Many people had hoped the studio would work on a fifth Sly Cooper game if possible. It looks like there are no plans for another game starring the raccoon at this point in time.
Sanzaru Games announced on Facebook that they are not working with PlayStation right now for another project. The sad part came when they said “there are no plans to work on another Sly Cooper title“.
Sony can still commission a new Sly Cooper game to be made without Sanzaru Games. However, it looks like they are not in a rush to make Sly Cooper 5 for the PS4 at the moment. We do know a new Sly Cooper movie is in production though.
A lot of fans on the Sanzaru Games Facebook page are not happy about the lack of news about a Sly Cooper 5. It’s up to Sony to decide though, not Sanzaru Games. Hopefully fans get their wish at the PlayStation Experience event or at E3 2015. For now, all they can do is wait.
