Satisfactory, the factory management sim game from Coffee Stain Studios has officially announced a new update. Known as Update III, it’s now available on the game’s experimental version for testing. With that news, though, the developer has also announced that the game is coming to Steam! Before now, the game was only available on the Epic Games Store, but the exclusivity period has ended. There is currently no confirmed release date for either the Steam release or the update being brought to the full game, but we’ll let you know if that changes. The news was announced through an official Update III reveal trailer, which you can find here.
Update III brings in a whole plethora of new content, most notably pipes! These will allow for some new fluid resources to be transferred across your factory. Pipes operate differently compared to conveyor belts, working based on a variety of factors rather than a fixed speed. You’ll need to think more critically if you want to get them working, which should be a welcome challenge. With the pipes will be a lot of different buildings which work in conjunction with the pipes. There will be pumps to push the fluids, indicators to show the amount of fluid in the pipes and fluid extractors to get the fluids.
All these new fluids will affect various different buildings in the game, primarily being generators. Coal generators will now require a stream of water and coal, fuel generators will require, well, fuel, and nuclear generators require water cooling. Of course, you’ll have places to store all these fluids with new facilities and the ability to store them on trains. This is, of course, not all the new update is introducing. Every one of these changes will be available with the game’s Steam release, of course. There isn’t a whole lot we have on that yet, but we do know that it’s planned for sometime this year.
