Wanda Maximoff is casting a spell in the upcoming Scarlet Witch solo series. This new on-going solo series comes from writer Steve Orlando and artist Sara Pichelli. Together, this duo is ushering in a new era of adventures for the hero known as the Scarlet Witch. Throughout the series, Wanda faces dangers and mysteries that only her mystical abilities can solve.

What Is Going Down In This New Scarlet Witch Series?

It has been a big year for Wanda Maximoff in all mediums. The sometimes-Avenger took the world by storm in the critically acclaimed WandaVision series. This was followed by a villainous turn in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Meanwhile, her comic book counterpart has been going through a redemption arc of sorts. After a long period of exile for the events of House of M, Wanda is finding a new purpose. She found redemption in the eyes of mutants after the events of X-Men: Trial of Magneto. Now, she has a fresh start to make a difference in the world.

This new series focuses on a door. Not just any door, but a magic door that only appears to those who need it most. Waiting on the other side is a mysterious witchcraft shop. There, people find the entity known as the Scarlet Witch. After finding peace, Wanda Maximoff has pledged to help others who have hit rock bottom. However, when a woman emerges with a story of an entire town gone mad, the Scarlet Witch may be in over her head. She will have to use all her wits and magic to deal with a new and terrifying threat.

Any Sneak Peaks?

Speaking to Marvel, writer Steve Orlando shares his history with the character. In fact, his first ever Marvel work starred the Scarlet Witch as she kicked some butt in Darkhold. Naturally, he could not pass up the opportunity to revisit the character. Especially now that she has “broken free of the shadows she wrestled with for years”. Along with Pichelli and Russell Dauterman, Orlando s excited to unveil the next chapter in the Scarlet Witch’s story.

Scarlet Witch #1 is on sale January 4.
