What Will You Do to Get to the Truth?

A strange murder has tipped the world on its moral axis. For agent Neil Conrad, this is only the beginning of a lengthy investigation where he’ll soon find out that there is much more at stake. From developer DigiTales Interactive and publisher Assemble Entertainment comes Lacuna, an upcoming 2D science-fiction noir adventure for the PC.

Lacuna follows the inquisitive quest of Central Department of Investigation (CDI) agent Neil Conrad. When informed about a killing, Conrad eventually tumbles into a spring of complex conspiracies. Moreover, the entire solar system might also be at risk. Only the choice you make will affect the game’s outcome, so it’s best to tread lightly on what path you embark on.

While Lacuna may seem like a run-of-the-mill 2D story adventure, DigiTales Interactive have added their own unique twists. In place of a standard point-and-click mechanic, players will instead use movement controls (WASD/controller) to navigate Conrad. The conversations and choices you engage with are not repeatable. Additionally, narrative interruptions, counter-intuitive puzzles, and pixel hunting will not be a part of Lacuna‘s gameplay. Everything you do will be stuck with you, and that will all affect the ending with the story’s branching system.

Lacuna‘s Release Date

Lacuna is ready to launch onto Steam next month on May 20, 2021. Together with its official release announcement, the publisher created a permanent demo that showcases Lacuna‘s prologue. Attached, of course, is the trailer that serves as a sufficient dish of what to look forward to the dark, introspective dialogue, 2D characters and environments, and sinister intrigue.
