With Halloween right around the corner, things from movies to video games are celebrating the upcoming season. Scorn is one of the latest horror-based video games released on the market just in time for the spooky holiday. In the short time since its release, the horror puzzle shooter has players talking about how grueling it is. With the difficulty, Scorn players are itching to know if they can ever save their progress as they work through the game. We’ll let you know just how the save system works in the game, so you know what to expect.

Can you Save your Game Progress in Scorn?

We’ll get the worst of it out of the way right now: no, you cannot manually save in Scorn.

We know how much that hurts in any game, but especially in a horror-themed video game. Besides the puzzles, Scorn provides seemingly endless exploration. As it feels like it can go on forever, it’s no wonder players want to save their Scorn game to not lose any of the progress they’ve made.

Unfortunately, one wrong move, and you’re sent back to the start. Your only saving grace, so to speak, is the auto-save function. But know that this only kicks into play at specific checkpoints.

The game is a short one, though, with an expected completion time of under 10 hours. Even so, it’s no doubt challenging. Also, it can get tedious to go through those endless corridors in Scorn over and over again without a save game system in place.

Players who enjoy the game on Xbox Series X|S can take advantage of the Quick Resume function as a stand-in. With Quick Resume, you can leave the game or even turn the console off and pick up right where you left off. It’s not exactly a way to manually save your game in Scorn, but it can give you a breather if you need it.

Otherwise, you’ll have to live with Scorn purposely being a stubbornly challenging horror game that punishes players without a manual save game system.
