August 10th, 2020 marked the ten year anniversary of the Scott Pilgrim Video Game. Less than three days later on August 13th, 2020 The Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World movie celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Despite the Scott Pilgrim vs The World movie developing a cult following, many Scott Pilgrim fans have not had the opportunity to play the game. Despite it releasing in 2010, the Ubisoft developed side-scrolling arcade Beat ’em up was pulled from the Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store at the end of 2014.  Since then, fans have begged for the game’s return. In May 2020, fans and the creators reached out to Ubisoft.

In May 2020, the director of the film and creator of the series reached out to Ubisoft; in their posts, they discussed wanting the game to return alongside a theatrical rerelease of the movie. In August, O’Malley tweeted that Ubisoft had reached out to him but did not provide further information. Today, Director Edgar Wright posted on Twitter teasing fans about a possible announcement.

Ubisoft Forward

This tweet comes on the same day as Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Foward Event. This adds fuel to the fire that the Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Arcade game would be announced during the event. In addition to the possible announcement of a remastered Scott Pilgrim Game, a rumor has arisen regarding a Prince of Persia remake. Since the announcement of the Xbox Series X & S’s release date, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion will be available upon release. During Ubisoft Forward, we expect that new gameplay from these games will be showcased; we also expect that new footage from Far Cry 6 will be showcased showing actual gameplay.
