Scott Pilgrim vs The World was recently re-released on April 30, but now Collider is reporting that there will be an extension so that you can watch Edgar Wright’s stunning take on the acclaimed graphic novel. The re-release is in celebration of the 10th anniversary, which was delayed due to the pandemic. As such, Edgar Wright confirmed the extension via his Twitter today. He also wants fans to let him know if they do go and watch it, how the experience was, and share any pictures taken. What a rad dude.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World was released back in 2010. It made 32 million dollars domestically, carrying an 85 million dollar budget. In Hollywood terms, that’s not good. Although the quality was definitely there, a lot of times success equals money.

That didn’t stop Scott Pilgrim vs The World from gaining a ton of admiration through its release via DVD & Blu-Ray which to date has made nearly 29 million in sales, which is slightly below what was made at the box office. Scott Pilgrim vs The World, I believe, suffered from the same fate as Dredd. Unfortunately for fans of Dredd, there does not appear to be a sequel in sight, let alone a re-release.

I for one am ready to go out again, having had my second shot recently. Scott Pilgrim vs The World is the best Edgar Wright movie to watch in a theatre due to its amazing visual style, head-bopping tunes, and nuanced video game sound design. If you do go watch it, see how many tunes and jingles you notice. And of course, getting a bit more Michael Cera in your life is never a bad thing. If you haven’t seen it, stop reading this and try and find a way to go watch it. If you are a fan of good stuff, this is right up your alley.
