For the longest time, Sea of Thieves has seen monthly updates breathing new content into the game. From new voyages to quests that increase the lore of the game, there’s plenty to expect each month. I’m almost going to miss the monthly updates next year, but I’m hoping those seasonal updates make up for what we’re losing. Today though, the last of those updates is finally upon us. Sea of Thieves’ final (and quite frosty) monthly update is here, merely known as the Festival of Giving. You can find the trailer for this latest update below.

One of the bigger things to expect in the Festival of Giving is the 12 Deeds of Giving event for Sea of Thieves. Each day (including today) will give you a fresh challenge to complete, netting you some sweet rewards in the process. You’ll have until January 20 to complete them all, so act fast! There’s also the return of gilded voyages, which give you tons and tons of valuable loot to cash in for some sweet rewards. These can even be put towards the Plundered Presents event, which gives you extra rewards for giving other pirates your loot to sell for themselves. It is the season of giving after all.

To go with these, Sea of Thieves is bringing tons of cosmetics with the Festival of Giving event. By either visiting the Pirate Emporium or watching Twitch streams, you can bag yourself tons of frosty cosmetics including pets, weapons, and costumes. You have to get into the winter spirit somehow, right? You can even dress in some more dastardly outfits if you’re more of a Krampus than anything. Finally, there are new cannon flairs you can get. These change the firing animations of your cannonballs, giving them various colors and much more to make use of. It’s that extra little thing to make your Sea of Thieves experience more you. So what are you waiting for? Hop into the Festival of Giving and let me know what you think.

Sea of Thieves is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC.
