Netflix’s workplace comedy-drama series Space Force has a Season 2 premiere date! The series had an eerily realistic take on the handling of the newly made Space Force, created during the Trump Administration. The story follows the highly decorated four-star general Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell). Naird tries to lead the sixth branch of the military while also being a present father to his daughter. Throughout Season 1 of the series Space Force showed the petty rivalries between the branches of the military. Ben Schwartz plays F. Tony Scarapiducci, social media director. Veteran actor John Malkovich plays chief scientist Dr. Adrian Mallory. Steve Carell and Greg Daniels created the Netflix workplace comedy-drama series. Season 2 will be filmed in Vancouver instead of Los Angeles. Norm Hiscock, who has worked on Parks & Recreation and Brooklyn-Nine-Nine will partner with Daniels as a co-showrunner.

Season 2 will Blast Off in a Little Over a Month

Thankfully, Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, and Don Lake will return for Season 2. The Netflix workplace comedy-drama series Space Force has not quite lifted off with audiences. It could be because the series was so realistic to the real-life messy administration running the Space Force. Those scenes where General Naird had to let the Russian contacts in on the Space Force’s every move hit way too close to home. Neither Carell nor Daniels has given any incite of how this season will go with the new administration. Maybe there will be less Russian intervention. The Space Force series at least have a strong cast and Carell makes a compelling lead.

Tawny Newsome’s career has picked up speed since being on the series. Newsome plays Angela Ali, a helicopter pilot-turned astronaut. She has been in Netflix’s True Story and voices Ensign Beckett Mariner in Star Trek: Lower Decks. Angela Ali may tack on another professional title this season.

Season 2 of Space Force will premiere on February 18 only on Netflix.
