Coming off the Hulu and Searchlight Pictures horror film Fresh, Sebastian Stan continues his dark path with the A24 thriller, A Different Man. As reported by Deadline, he has been cast with Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World) and Adam Pearson (Under the Skin). The psychological thriller will be directed and written by Aaron Schimberg (Go Down Death). The studio is financing and producing the film. Christine Vachon, Gabriel Mayers, Vanessa McDonnell, and Jason Reif will produce. Stan will executive produce.

The film will follow Edward, a reclusive outcast seeking a new life. To do this, he goes under facial reconstructive surgery. His story picks up interest, and a stage production is created on his former life. Edward then becomes obsessed with the man playing him in the show. The film begins production next month.

A24 and Sebastian Stan Team Up for Psychological Thriller ‘A Different Man’

Sebastian Stan and A24 for a psychological thriller is not a huge stretch for the actor, despite his tenure at Marvel Studios that skyrocketed his career. The actor was in Fresh earlier this year with Daisy Edgar-Jones (Under the Banner of Heaven), Jojo T. Gibbs (Twenties), and Andrea Bang (Kim’s Convenience). It was directed by Mimi Cave, who just signed on for her next big project with Nicole Kidman in Holland, Michigan.

The actor is coming off the success of Pam & Tommy. He also starred last year in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and What If…?, continuing his run as Bucky Barnes, who he has played in nine projects over the past 11 years. Other notable films and shows he has starred in include I, Tonya, Black Swan, Gossip Girl, and The Devil All the Time.

While Sebastian Stan gears up for the A24 film, he has other projects in the works with Sharper and The Brutalist. He will continue his run as Bucky with Marvel, but it is currently unknown when he will be seen next, with the most likely being Captain America 4.
