Second Extinction has today launched its January 20 update on all platforms, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. As this is yet another patch in the team’s line of “Supply Drop” updates, this patch focuses primarily on fixing a list of bugs the community has reported in the past while. This includes weapon and menu fixes, though the overall amount of bug fixes isn’t too plentiful. Still, seeing any bugs tackled is always a very good thing. It’ll be nice to see what the team has planned for future content updates in the meantime. Without further adieu, here’s everything new with Second Extinction in its January 20 update!

Second Extinction January 20 Update Patch Notes

Menu, HUD, UI, etc.

Gameworld

  • Fixed several issues where Dinos were stuck in spawn caves. They are no longer shy!

Performance

  • Fixed a crash that happened when a player filled in incorrect credentials in the Apex Connect account creation screen

Weapons and Equipment

  • A dino ate the “Adrenaline Shot” perk for the pistol before the last Supply Drop. It is available again. Don’t ask how we got it back.
  • Artillery Cannon works properly when equipping the perk “Direct Impact”
  • Weapon perks that cause the weapons to do critical damage are now functional

As far as the heaviest hitting bug fixes go, the biggest ones are the Weapons and Equipment changes. The Adrenaline Shot perk for the pistol, for example, is great to see back in its normal state. Alongside that, critical damage is a massive fix and should allow for much more efficient dino slaughtering. Again, these are minor in scope, but are great to see fixed.

Second Extinction is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. For more information regarding this update, check out the official Steam post.
