Second Extinction, developed and published by Systemic Reaction, has unleashed dinosaurs upon the Earth once more. Just when you thought you didn’t need to worry about overgrown lizards, they have come back worse than before. Be ready to defend the Earth, because you and friends are all that stands between humanity and a certain end.

An online co-op shooter, Second Extinction revives creatures from the prehistoric era. These dinosaurs are nothing like the ones seen in Jurassic Park. The game’s dinosaurs have had a few hundred years to adapt. Instead of ‘traditional’ raptors, they now come with the ability to unleash electric attacks.

Hundreds upon hundreds of different mutated dinos have dominated the Earth. Humanity will not sit idly by while former extinct animals take over. Put them back in the era they belong in, and drive the bloodthirsty beasts into their Second Extinction.

At $24.99, you can find the game on Steam Early Access. You and two friends can team up to take on hordes of various dinosaurs. Second Extinction gives you the option of choosing from four heroes and 10 weapons each with their own five-tier upgrade set. Take on any of six missions and a number of side quests across seven regions.

Those who have Early Access will get Second Extinction updates free. These will consist of things such as new weapons and different dinosaur mutations. In addition, players will have access to War Effort emergence events.

Complete missions and challenges, thereby directly affecting the threat level. War Effort allows for multiple players to aid in suppressing the danger in a territory. But beware, if you fail to deal with the threat, expect to have a harder time going through that area.

There are plans for Second Extinction to come to Xbox Series X and Xbox One. Check their site and subscribe to their newsletter to keep up-to-date.
