When “HUGE” is capitalized, you know it’s going to be good.
Head’s up SEGA fans, the developer apparently has huge news for you tomorrow during SEGA FES 2018. So huge, in fact, that it felt the need to capitalize the word in the announcement.
The announcement comes via the official SEGA Twitter account which reads:
“Stay tuned for a special announcement tomorrow, LIVE and direct from SEGA FES in Tokyo. You DO NOT want to miss this, SEGA fans!”
What exactly is so huge about this announcement that SEGA felt the need to raise expectations by capitalizing the word? Remember, the annual SEGA FES event (running from April 14-15 this year) isn’t usually an event that fans expect to hear major announcements at (those are often saved for specialized events like the one it had last year for Yakuza). Not to mention that as far as the West is concerned, we already have as much as we can expect from the company for the foreseeable future, with titles like Shining Resonance Refrain, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Sonic Mania Plus (check out our review of the original here) and Valkyria Chronicles 4.
So what can we expect to hear at the event that will actually make it worth our time? A new Sonic the Hedgehog game? Shenmue? Some type of racing game? A Dreamcast mini perhaps? Almost anything is possible, but the question is whether it will actually be good.
Will the hype surrounding the event this year legitimate or is SEGA just blowing hot air? We’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
