If you want to survive, you’ve gotta run.

Like previous FromSoftware games such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice features a ton of different maneuvers you need to master in order to come out victorious. While the game explains a lot of these to you, some get a little lost in the shuffle. One of these is your sprint ability, letting you make it through the lands of feudal Japan much faster than normal. To help, here’s a quick guide on how to sprint in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The answer is actually a bit odd. While most games use the thumbstick for sprint, or a button press of something else, Sekiro has you hold Circle on PS4 or B on Xbox One. This is your dodge button as well, so using it to sprint doesn’t make a ton of sense just offhand. Still, that’s the way to do it, and you’ll want to get used to it because running around these levels is very important later in the game.

Once you’ve explored certain regions, you’ll still have to make your way through them, with all of the enemies within having respawned. You’re faster than them though, so sprinting through will usually get you where you need to be, without having to worry about these foes who just want to make you waste your health or resurrection. If they do hit you, be sure to check out this guide on how to heal.

Hopefully this helps you know how to sprint in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
