Selena Gomez was scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show but canceled as she tested positive for COVID. The singer and actress posted made the announcement on her Instagram story featuring dogs and her resting in a bundle of blankets.

“I’m not going to be on Fallon tonight. I ended up getting COVID but am resting and feeling ok,” Selena Gomez wrote on her COVID status. She encouraged people to get vaccinated and boosted. She was set to get a booster later in the week before testing for the virus.

The Tonight Show appearance was meant to be a part of her promotional run for the Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me. The film was directed by Alek Keshishian, who helmed the 1990s doc about Madonna, Truth or Dare. The film will follow the star’s professional and personal life. It will go through her highs in music and film and her struggles with her health, including her bipolar diagnosis. It will also feature a single of the same title as the documentary.

Selena Gomez not appearing on the Tonight Show due to testing positive for COVID does not mean the show will be light in talent. Jim Parsons, Rose Byrne, and Isabel Hagen will be on tonight’s show. It airs on NBC at 11:35/10:35c.
