Netherlands developer Sentinel Studios are working up something terrifying with the new exploration horror game Claustrophobia. The indie studio is aiming for a February 10, 2021 release, but players can wishlist the game now through Steam.

In Claustrophobia, A New Evil Shall Perturb You

Set in a strange facility, Claustrophobia follows the steps of a scientist who seeks important data. No one knows what lies beyond the front doors, but it is something far from pleasant. Lurking in the shadows is a grotesque fiend that is hellbent on killing you. You can’t fight back; your only hope is to run and hide.

Claustrophobia falls into the familiar vase of other exploration horror games that are more well-known in the industry. These include Alien: Isolation, Outlast, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and more that come to mind when watching the original footage above. The dark atmospheres add to the increasing tension of something disastrous coming toward you. Coupled with the fact that you can’t fight back, your only decision in avoidance is to ultimately hide from the enemy.

Not much is known about the overall plot for Claustrophobia. We are already aware that we’ll play a scientist who enters a mysterious facility, but that’s it. We’re sure to see more footage and gameplay from Sentinel Studios in the coming months. The developer seems to be providing updates for the game through their Instagram page.
