Skateboarding sim Session is adding a new filming mode and a New York City landmark in its latest update.

Session was first announced as a Kickstarter in 2017, raising over $100 thousand with over three thousand backers. The game heavily relates to the cult classic skateboarding game Skate, with its reliance on stick-based controls to pull off tricks.

Session Adds New Tricks and Filming Mode

The new update adds several gameplay features, whether you are skating yourself or with a friend. Over 40 new tricks are now in the game.  For example, you can now do impossibles and come out of grinds with late flips.

Along with the new tricks, the player now has more freedom on their skateboard. The player now has flick control, how they catch in a trick and the board contains more realistic physics.

Coming with the update is a new skate spot, the iconic New York City Pyramid Ledges. This new spot contains a lot of spots to grind and take advantage of the updated trick system.

The biggest addition to Session is the local filmer mode, where a second player can join you as your skate videographer to help get the best shot of your tricks. The second player has access to a number of different shots and tools to get the most out of the filming system.

Given that Session is harkening back to the classic era of early skateboarding, having the opportunity to assist with filming really captures that spirit. A dream would be if you could yourself skate while filming a buddy as they pull off tricks, riding on your board as you try to get the best angle.

The new content update is live now for those that own the game on PC through Steam Early Access. Session is still set to release on the Xbox One, with a preview version coming in the near future.
