As the U.S slowly begins to open up after coronavirus hit its shores, tragedy struck this past weekend as former WWE superstar Shad Gaspard was lost at sea.

Gaspard, 39, was at Marina Del Rey Beach in California with his wife and son Sunday after it opened. Gaspard and his child were among swimmers caught 50 feet from shore by a rip current. When rescuers reached the scene, Gaspard told them to help his son first before another wave swept over him.

Alleged eye witness went on Reddit to share their experience after fighting to get out of the rip currents.

The poster went on to mention Gaspard’s family. “I saw the mom hear her husband not turn up and saw her run down the beach looking for him, and I saw a kid sitting on a shoreline with a look he knew that they were past the point of finding his friend’s dad alive. It was harrowing to see the reality unfold in a family a loved one didn’t return from the ocean. ” User martianlawrence said.

Shad married wife Siliana Gaspard in 2009 and the couple had a son together. The wife was seen at the beach with what is assumed to be friends and family consoling her until around 12:30pm, the period when the rescue station closes down. The son reportedly left 30 minutes prior with an adult and young boy.

Id like to end the night by breaking Kayfabe. I really somehow hope there is a positive outcome to the Shad Gaspard incident. The world is a shitty enough place right as it is without losing another one of our wrestling family. Shad our thoughts are with you and your family. ? X
