Publisher Eastasiasoft Limited has announced that the satirical first-person shooter Shadow of Loot Box will soon be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Well if you live in Asian territories that is. No word on a North American or European release. The game is already localized in English. So I can’t imagine them not at least giving it a digital release over here. Anyway, check out the trailer.

As you can see, the idea behind Shadow of Loot Box is to make light of all the most hated trends in modern video games. Loot boxes, Bugs, microtransactions, pre-order content, it’s all here. The game was previously released on PC via Steam. But this will be its console debut. On Steam it has mixed reviews.

It’s also receiving a limited edition physical release exclusive to the PS4. This includes a copy of Shadow of Lootbox, a manual, toy brick set, collector’s certificate, and collector’s box. The digital release will be on June 27th for the Nintendo Switch and June 28th for PlayStation 4.  Those wishing to obtain the limited edition version can do so starting on the 27th. Only 1000 copies are available, so you’ll need to act fast. This will be available via online retailer Playasia.

I don’t see any information about the price in the press release. but the PC version is $5.99. So it makes sense that it will be somewhere around that price. Shadow of Lootbox features 16 levels and 4 bosses. So I’d say a decent amount of content. If you’re looking for something lighthearted, and self-aware then this might be a good purchase for you. Or if you’re already a fan of the PC version. The only other reason I’d see interest in it would be for those sweet looking toy bricks that come with the limited edition. But I’m a sucker for Lego-adjacent stuff.
