Open-world action-adventure game Shakedown: Hawaii is coming out on a platform you would not expect. The game will be releasing on the Wii and Wii U soon.

A sequel to Retro City Rampage, the game is set in the style of classic Grand Theft Auto games. You play from a top-down perspective, causing chaos and controlling the streets of Hawaii.

Shakedown: Hawaii to Release on Wii and Wii U this Summer

The upcoming Wii and Wii U versions of the game feature all released updates and content. The feature updates included with this new version of the game include the Mogul Update and the Full Tank Update. It also includes other tweaks and optimization updates that came post-launch.

The Wii version comes with 50hz and 60hz support, along with NTSC and PAL output. It also supports the Wii Remote, Wii Classic Controller, Wii Classic Controller Pro and the Gamecube Controller.

The Wii U version can be played in 16:9, and supports play on both the Wii U and the Wii U Gamepad. Both versions of the game also support 4:3 support for play on CRT televisions.

Unfortunately, North American players looking to dust out their Wii for Shakedown: Hawaii will be disappointed. Due to issues pertaining to Nintendo of America, the Wii version will only release for European players. Wii games are also not region free, so you can not try to play the European copy on your American Wii.

The Wii version of Shakedown Hawaii will launch on Thursday, July 9 for $29.99. There are only 3,000 copies of the game though, so subscribe to the Shakedown: Hawaii email list to ensure you don’t miss out.
