Shania Twain’s Covid-19 Battle Made Her Genuinely Appreciative

Shania Twain’s Covid-19 battle began at the height of the disease. The singer was affected by pneumonia and found herself struggling for air. In no time, Fred made preparations for his wife to be taken to a hospital. Twain remembered the helicopter ride, explaining that it all happened in slow motion.

But one thing that remained more glaring to the one-time DWTS judge was Fred’s sacrifices and his struggle to get her a hospital bed. After many phone calls, she was put in isolation. Shania Twain’s Covid-19 battle ended in a victory, after a slow process of recovery, leaving her eternally grateful for life.

Unfailingly, the singer glorified her husband for his contributions, feeling rather sad for people who never get to enjoy such a support system. The experience never eluded her, as Twain intends to let fans know all about it through her “Inhale/Exhale Air” song in the “Queen of Me” album. In her words:

But Covid-19 has not been the only time she has lost touch with her breathing or first love— music. In 2003, she contracted Lyme disease. To her, the future meant not using her voice again, but after undergoing surgery, she was able to hit her notes just right.

But more than a voice problem has been a childhood layered with abuse, which somehow, the singer got through.

Shania Twain’s Child Abuse Trauma

Shania Twain’s child abuse trauma was from her stepdad whom she lived with alongside her mother and four siblings. She was fondled as a child and that left her feeling unsure about her body. But like every other down moment, she found a way to soar—only recently.

The 57-year-old singer posed for album covers, leaving little to the imagination. Her reason was simple, it was a way to confront her childhood abuse trauma.
