In today’s Pokémon Press Conference, the Pokémon Company announced that a new Pokémon Center would be coming to the Shibuya area in Tokyo.

Pokémon Centers are stores that focus almost exclusively on Pokémon products. They are named after the buildings you take your Pokémon in the games to get healed.

The new Shibuya shopping center is called Shibuya Parco, and the opening of the new Pokémon Center will coincide with the Parco’s opening. The Shibuya Pokémon Center will have a sleek black and white aesthetic and is supposed to immerse fans into the world of Pokémon.

The new Pokémon Center will have Mewtwo as the main focus. A statue of Mewtwo in a glass cylinder will rotate in the center of the store. Given Mewtwo’s major role in the Pokémon: Detective Pikachu movie and his upcoming leading role in Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION, it makes sense for Pokémon to put more emphasis in the original Legendary Pokémon.

Pokémon Centers are more common throughout Japan, though there is one in New York.
