Prepare to go to Mars with Opportunity, a new exploration game inspired by the real-life mission of NASA’s famous rover. With development by DIMANCHE CORP., Opportunity will see more details during the Jeux Made event from publisher Shiro Unlimited.
Opportunity Mission Start: January 2004
Opportunity tells the story of Mars Exploration Rover – B, a NASA robotic rover that traveled across Mars for 14 years. Initially commissioned to roam the red planet for a short time in 2004, the robot continued until 2018 when its battery life began to deplete. NASA declared the robot a goner a year later after attempting over 1,000 signals to communicate. The game’s narrative will explore the rover’s mission through a series of objectives and dangerous tasks.
The story of Mars Exploration Rover – B, or Opportunity, was widespread in the news, and it continued to encourage space travel to the masses. Now, French studio DIMANCHE CORP. has designed a full exploration title based on Opportunity’s adventures. Players will assume full control of the robot in a recreation of Mars filled with vibrant landscapes. The reveal trailer is backed with an acoustic sound that accompanies Opportunity’s travel from Earth to Mars.
