Because Cosmo helps the player toward the end, we recommend helping him. It is one of the few big choices that doesn’t have the biggest impact on the game. However, there is a small puzzle that players can skip later in this chapter if they help Cosmo.
In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s crucial to help Cosmo break free from The Promise so that he can offer assistance to the team near the game’s end. It isn’t necessary for a happy resolution to the story, but it contributes to the tone of the ending and makes a future combat situation easier.
Regardless of whether Cosmo was assisted on Knowhere, he is still mentioned in the epilogue. Whenever a player makes a choice and wants to reverse it, they can always replay it from the main menu after finishing a chapter.
