Harvestella is another entry in the farming simulator genre by Square Enix, but it aims to differentiate itself by including a harder focus on RPG mechanics. With a multiplatform release, those who enjoy their handheld farm sims are left with a choice. Should you get Harvestella on Nintendo Switch on the Steam Deck.
Is Harvestella better on Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch?
Ultimately this is up to your preference, but we have to give the Steam Deck the edge over the Nintendo Switch. In our opinion, the pros of having it on Steam Deck outweigh the pros of having it on Nintendo Switch. It’s still worth playing on Nintendo Switch, though.
Playing Harvestella on Steam allows you to play it on the go or on your computer, as it will be in your Steam library on both. If Harvstella were to get mods, these would not be accessible on Nintendo Switch, thus expanding your experience on Steam Deck. You will also see better graphics, performance, and more on Steam Deck and Steam, as they are more powerful than the Switch.
One con of the Steam Deck is that it is not as easy to play on a TV if you prefer to play on your couch and a big screen. You will need to get a third-party peripheral or workaround rather than the Nintendo Switch’s native dock.
That being said, Harvestella on Nintendo Switch also has perks that the Steam Deck does not. Most games on Nintendo Switch, including Harvestella, have been designed for the console and UI. This makes it feel more natural than something designed for a mouse and keyboard and had controller support added later.
One major pro of the Nintendo Switch is the versatility of playstyles it offers. You can easily switch between handheld, tabletop, and docked without purchasing additional peripherals. The ease of use is certainly a big selling point for playing Harvestella on Switch.
