Half off sale hits before a planned price increase

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is easily one of the best deals in gaming. Featuring the main campaign along with all released and planned DLC, the set has always been a solid bargain. But on PC it just became a true must-buy with a 50% off sale hitting Steam and Humble Bundle (the sale is on PS4 and Xbox One as well, with some reporting it on Switch). This brings the price down from $24.99 to $12.49, which is the lowest it’s been since the price was last raised on the title.

But while that’s a nice deal, it isn’t worth bringing up like this. What makes this all the more significant is that Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is about to get even more content added to it. King of Cards, the final single-player campaign will be joining the set soon. Along with it will come Showdown, the Super Smash Bros. style beat-em-up multiplayer experience. Both look very solid and will bring some new elements to the Shovel Knight series. If you haven’t jumped onto the franchise yet then this is the right time and at a pretty ridiculous price.

Once those two DLC sets are out the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove set is planned to go up to $39.99, making $12.49 look even better than it already does. If you’ve held out until now then maybe the games just aren’t for you. However, if you like 2D platformers, you’ll probably get something out of it. Almost certainly enough to warrant the $12.49 price.
